LAKELAND — Dyer County volleyball carried its championship momentum into regional competition Monday night, turning in a dominant performance against Bolivar to advance in the Region 7AA Tournament. Fresh off capturing their sixth consecutive District 13AA championship, the Choctaws wasted little time establishing control, sweeping Bolivar 25-8, 25-11, 25-9 for a convincing 3-0 victory. Dyer County controlled the match from the opening set, allowing Bolivar just eight points in the first frame. The Choctaws continued their strong play in the second set before closing out the match with a 25-9 victory in the third, surrendering just 28 total points across the three sets. One of the biggest differences in the match came at the service line, where Dyer County recorded an impressive 20 service aces on 73 attempts, keeping constant pressure on the Bolivar defense. Zoey Morris led the Choctaws with six aces on 18 service attempts, while Kierstyn Ray added five aces on 18 attempts. Kate Benedetto contributed four aces without a service error, and Evie Rogers finished with three. Adalyn Harrison and Katie Beth Caldwell each added one ace. The Choctaws’ aggressive serving helped produce one of their most convincing postseason victories, as Dyer County maintained control throughout the contest. Monday’s victory continued an impressive postseason run for Dyer County, which entered regional play following straight-set victories over Dyersburg and Crockett County in the District 13AA Tournament. With another postseason victory secured, the Choctaws move one step closer to their goal of returning to the TSSAA Class AA State Tournament. Dyer County will now advance to the Region 7AA Championship match, looking to add another regional title to the program’s growing list of accomplishments.
