PARIS — Dyer County girls soccer hit the road Monday night for a non-district matchup with Henry County, with the Lady Choctaws falling 5-1 to the Lady Patriots in Paris. Henry County was able to generate enough offense to pull away for the four-goal victory, but Dyer County continued to battle throughout the night. Peyton Murphy provided the offense for the Lady Choctaws, scoring Dyer County's lone goal of the match. On the other end of the field, freshman goalkeeper Maddie Greer faced plenty of pressure from the Henry County attack and turned in another busy night in goal. Greer recorded 13 saves, helping keep the Lady Choctaws within striking distance despite the Lady Patriots creating numerous scoring opportunities. The 13-save performance comes after Greer recorded 20 saves in Dyer County's wild 8-7 victory over Mayfield earlier this season, giving the freshman another double-digit save performance in goal. Dyer County will now turn its attention back to district play. The Lady Choctaws return home Thursday night when they host Obion County in an important district matchup.
