MILAN — Dyer County Volleyball continued its unbeaten run through District 13AA Monday night, turning in another commanding performance with a straight-set victory over Milan. The Choctaws controlled the match from start to finish, sweeping the Lady Bulldogs 25-11, 25-12 and 25-13 to remain undefeated in district play. Dyer County wasted little time taking control in the opening set. The Choctaws limited Milan to just 11 points in a 25-11 victory and carried that momentum directly into the second. There was little change in the second set as Dyer County continued to dictate play. The Choctaws took the set 25-12 to move within one win of another district sweep. Milan managed its highest point total of the night in the third, but Dyer County never allowed the Lady Bulldogs to seriously threaten. The Choctaws closed out the match with a 25-13 victory, completing the sweep without surrendering more than 13 points in any set. The final numbers reflected just how consistently Dyer County controlled the match. The Choctaws outscored Milan 75-36, a 39-point advantage over the three sets. Dyer County was also effective from the service line, finishing the night with 10 aces. Katie Caldwell led the Choctaws with three aces on seven service attempts. Kate Benedetto, Ady B Harrison and Zoey Morris each added two aces, while Kierstyn Ray recorded one. The Choctaws served 72 times as a team while committing only five service errors. Dyer County's district run has been marked by consistency, and Monday's victory added another straight-set decision to an unbeaten District 13AA résumé. The Choctaws won't have to wait long for their next district test. Dyer County will return home Tuesday night to host Dyersburg in another District 13AA matchup. The rivalry match will also serve as the program's Pinned with Pride: Teacher Appreciation Night, giving Dyer County's players an opportunity to recognize teachers who have made an impact on them. With district positioning on the line and a special night of recognition surrounding the match, the Choctaws will look to continue their unbeaten run through District 13AA in front of the home crowd.
