Boys' Golf Tops Gibson County

GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Dyer County Golf hit the road Tuesday evening for a matchup with Gibson County at Gibson County Country Club, and the Choctaws came away with wins at both the varsity and junior varsity levels. The Dyer County varsity boys edged Gibson County 165-166, with the match coming down to just a single stroke. Jaden Hanna led the way for Dyer County, shooting a 36 to finish tied for medalist honors. Hanna's round proved especially important in a match where every stroke mattered, helping the Choctaws secure the narrow road victory. Dyer County also picked up a strong performance from its junior varsity squad. The Choctaw JV defeated Gibson County 164-197, winning by 33 strokes and completing the varsity/JV sweep of the Pioneers. The one-stroke varsity victory adds another win to what has been a strong stretch for the Dyer County boys. The Choctaws have continued to find ways to win in both close matches and more decisive outings as the season progresses.
