Dyer County volleyball continued its strong play at home Thursday night, as both the Junior Varsity and Varsity squads picked up straight-set victories over Trinity Christian Academy. The Varsity Choctaws swept the Lions 3-0, taking the match 25-14, 25-8 and 25-10. Dyer County controlled the match throughout, holding TCA to 14 points or fewer in each set. The Choctaws recorded 11 service aces in the victory. Ady B Harrison led the way with five aces, while Katie Beth Caldwell added four. Zoey Morris and Evie Rogers each recorded one. Dyer County's Junior Varsity squad was equally impressive, cruising to a 2-0 victory with wins of 25-8 and 25-7. Serving played a major role in the JV victory, as the Choctaws piled up 16 aces in just two sets. Kate Benedetto led the way with eight aces, while Lynlee Young and Macy Seaton each added three. Molly Davis and Ella Beasley contributed one apiece. Thursday's victories gave both Dyer County squads their second consecutive wins after sweeping Lexington in their home opener Tuesday night. The Choctaws now turn their attention to tournament play. Dyer County will travel to Collierville on Friday and Saturday to compete in “Volley in the Ville.”
