Dyer County boys golf continued its strong week Thursday afternoon, traveling to Union City and coming away with a 152-166 victory over the Tornadoes. The Choctaws put together a balanced performance, with four scoring rounds of 40 or better. Jarrett Harrison led the way for Dyer County, firing a 36 to tie Union City’s McGuire for medalist honors. Rhodes was just one stroke back with a 37, while Beau Thurman carded a 39 and Williams shot a 40 to round out Dyer County’s team score of 152. Patterson also competed for the Choctaws and finished with a 43. Union City was led by McGuire’s 36. The Tornadoes finished with a team score of 166. The victory capped a busy and successful stretch for Dyer County. The Choctaws won the 12-team Kickoff Classic at The Farms on Monday before defeating Crockett County and Union City in a three-team match Tuesday. Thursday’s road victory over Union City gave Dyer County its third team win in four days.
