NEWBERN, Tenn. — Success in high school athletics is built on far more than wins and losses. Behind every championship run, every road trip, every piece of equipment, and every opportunity provided to student-athletes is a community willing to invest in young people. During the 2025-2026 school year, dozens of local businesses, families, and community supporters stepped forward to sponsor Dyer County High School's volleyball and softball programs. Their generosity played an important role in helping both programs continue a tradition of excellence. The Dyer County volleyball program once again proved to be among the state's elite. The Lady Choctaws captured their fifth consecutive Region 7AA Championship and returned to the TSSAA State Tournament, where they finished as the Class AA state runners-up for the second straight season, continuing a run of success that has made Dyer County a perennial contender in Tennessee volleyball. On the softball diamond, the Lady Choctaws competed against some of the strongest competition in West Tennessee while earning key victories throughout the season, including wins over district and regional opponents. The team's resilience and competitive spirit were on full display as they battled through a challenging schedule and represented Dyer County with pride. While the accomplishments on the court and field deserve recognition, those achievements would not be possible without the support of local businesses and community members who believe in the value of high school athletics.
